TIA to expand domestic flight time to 18 hours from tomorrow

Kathmandu. Regulatory body, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), has expanded existing domestic flight time to 18 hours a day so as to manage growing air traffic at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
In keeping with the rise in air traffic, the TIA has made necessary preparation to operate domestic flights up to 18 hours per day in six airports of Terai region of Nepal from tomorrow, shared Director-General Engineer Pradeep Adhikari told RSS.
The CAAN has decided to run the airport from 6.00 am through 12 in the night in Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Simara, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi.
This would help reduce existing air service pressure in Kathmandu airport and also give a relief to the pandemic-battered tourism sector, he shared.
