Photo Exhibition in Birendranagar

Surkhet – A three-day photo exhibition is set to take place in Birendranagar, the capital of Karnali Province.  Organized by Nepal Picture Library, the exhibition is titled Women in Public Life: A Step towards Feminist Memory.

As part of its nationwide tour, the exhibition will be held in Birendranagar and Nepalgunj on the 26th, 27th, and 28th of Falgun. After the successful exhibitions in Birganj and Janakpur, the second phase will be held in Surkhet and Nepalgunj.

The third phase will include Pokhara, Baglung, and Palpa the fourth phase will be in Bardiya, Dang, and Rolpa; the fifth phase will cover Ilam and Jhapa; the sixth phase will take place in Biratnagar, Dharan, and Bhojpur; and the seventh phase will be in Butwal, Bharatpur, and Hetauda.

The photo exhibition journey is aimed at preserving and promoting Nepal’s feminist history through visual documentation, oral history, and community engagement. It is expected that the exhibition will highlight the contribution of Nepalese women in public life and help establish the historical significance of their roles in Nepali society.

The exhibition, in partnership with Karnali Arts Centre, will be held at the Ghantaghar (Clock Tower) in Birendranagar. It will run daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and the event will be open and free to the public, as stated by the organizer, Nepal Picture Library.
