Diplomatic Efforts Urged for the Safety of Nepali Students in India
Kathmandu- Lawmakers have urged the government to take immediate diplomatic and political actions to ensure the safety of Nepali students studying in India.
During an emergency session of the House of Representatives today, they called on the government to coordinate with the Indian authorities to investigate the death of Prakriti Lamsal, a student from Butwal studying at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Odisha, and to ensure the safety of other Nepali students there.
Members of Parliament, including Chhabilal Biswokarma, Madhav Sapkota, Dhurba Bahadur Pradhan, and Thakur Gaire, demanded a thorough investigation into Lamsal’s mysterious death, legal action against the perpetrators, and guarantees for the safety of Nepali students studying at KIIT University.
